What princess party would be complete without a castle? We knew it was a must-have, so my sister and I worked to collect boxes, stacked and decorated them to create a large castle that was placed on the front porch. We painted the castle white and draped a flag banner across the top, made from paint swatches. The girls entered the castle by walking through our front door!
For party activities, the girls made their own princess necklaces out of jewel-colored beads, and played a spin on the classic birthday game, ‘Pin the Lips on the Frog.’
The final decorative challenge was to create an ice cream stand. Thanks to my handy brother-in-law, we were able to create one out of a wood pallet, and draped a lace tablecloth over the top to create a canopy. A Princess Like Me Kids Party Decorations were used to create a banner that we hung across the top. We also used them as coasters for the ice cream toppings, which were all color-coordinated to match, of course!
At the end of the party, each girl was able to take home a princess tiara, wand, large princess coloring book and a box of crayons, which I wrapped in a doily and tied together with personalized A Princess Like Me Gift Tags. They looked like little crowns!
Overall, our princess party ideas were a hit with the girls, especially the castle. My sister and I, however, are not sure we would ever try to construct one again!

I found your post on Pintrest. Very cute princess party. We are getting ready to celebrate our daughter’s fourth birthday. Do remember what size the center box is on the castle? Would you use a refrigerator box? Also do you have any pictures from the side? We were wondering how to keep the castle entry stabilized.
Hi Kat, happy early birthday to your daughter!! To design the princess castle, this mom referred to this tutorial: http://www.thebusybudgetingmama.com/2012/02/diy-cardboard-castle-tutorial-cost4/ To keep the castle stabilized in this particular party, she used fishing line to tie it to the front door. It was a bit of work, but the girls just loved it! Let us know how your party turns out, we’d love to see it!!
