Featured Favorite: First Birthday Ideas

Real cards (and parties!) created by real people like you!

This month’s Featured Favorite is sharing fun first birthday ideas with you! Mom, Ashley, wanted to throw her one-year-old, Kalla, a unicorn-themed birthday party. Ashley personalized our Magic Unicorn Mask Kids Birthday Invitation and told us, “When I saw the magical unicorn birthday invites on Pear Tree’s website, I knew I had found the theme for my daughter’s 1st birthday party. I absolutely loved the whimsical idea of unicorns and bright colors.”

Ashley said that everything she planned for Kalla’s big day was based off the unicorns and bright colors theme. She made unicorn horn cones for homemade ice cream that were dipped and decorated with various bright-colored sprinkles. Ashley also had rainbow swirl suckers, cupcakes with a splash of purple sprinkles and unicorn-shaped cookies packaged in cellophane for each guest to enjoy after the party.

Ashley also added in Kalla’s monthly photos of her leading up to one year old. You can see in each photo Ashley had a chalkboard with things Kalla liked to do, was interested in, or milestones to remember. This is such a fun first birthday party idea!

Then, for every first birthday party there must be a cake! This cake had two layers with purple sprinkles on top to match the cupcakes. Ashley hung a bunting banner that read “Kalla is 1!”

Ashley also shared with us, “Every guest wore their very own unicorn horn which made for lots of laughs!” It’s always fun when guests dress the part 🙂 Thank you, Ashley for sharing your unicorn party ideas with us and happy 1st birthday to Kalla!
