Being Bold with Natural Shades

Christmas style is about so much more than holly red and pine green. This year, the fashion world is showing us sophisticated ways to bring the runway into our own homes with elegant colors and textures.

Colors and shades from the natural world are key this year. Soft lilac greys, warm neutrals, and seasonal reds and greens are everywhere, including here at Pear Tree. These colors are both traditional and evocative, familiar and a little daring.

Being Bold with Natural Shades

Natural colors are far from boring. They are grounding, calming, and ethereal. In the case of bold reds and greens, they are also invigorating and full of the warmth we strive to capture every year at Christmas.

Holiday reds and greens are the traditional colors we all associate with Christmas, but this year takes those shades to a new level. Beyond Santa’s suit and pine needles, these colors are lush and classic, but with a modern twist. They feel familiar and new all at once. These shades are warm, welcoming, and cozy enough to wrap around yourself.

Naturals are such a broad spectrum that bring needed richness to traditional holiday shades. Think of warm browns and terra cottas. We are crazy about Iced Coffee, which looks exactly like a cup of java with just the right amount of milk.

Lilac Grey adds unexpected texture to the seasonal palette. It’s a neutral that isn’t too neutral, instead taking a basic shade up to a new level. It’s all over the runway in layered textures, such as lace, knits, silks, and linens. Like its namesake blossoms, this lilac is crisp and edgier than your traditional gray.

Pear Tree is in love with this holiday palette so much that we couldn’t wait to include it in our 2016 collection. Each theme is woven into the design of these new Christmas cards, helping you bring some elegance to your custom holiday photo cards.

Florals are a big thing this year, in shades of rich red, dusty rose, and airy peach. This imagery pairs so well with traditional holly and branches that we couldn’t resist incorporating them. Blossoms are not just for spring.

Poinsettia In Bloom -- Christmas Cards

Poinsettia In Bloom features stylized flowers on the front in rich tones of red and green. On the back, choose from myriad accents colors. We’re partial to the neutral brown in the example, as it carefully complements your photo while bringing a grounded, earthy feel to the final product.

 Star Flower -- Christmas Cards

Star Flower is a beautifully designed amalgam of botanical and interstellar imagery. The gold foil isn’t a true natural, but it adds a hint of glam while still keeping with the grounded feel of the piece. It will pair beautifully with an ethereal picture of your family taken outside in rich surroundings.

Blushing Blooms -- Christmas Cards

Blushing Blooms is just stunning. It combines bold reds, warm neutrals, and your choice of nature-inspired accent patterns. The overall effect is one part vintage, one part whimsy, and a heavy dash of holiday elegance.
Pear Tree has an entire section of Nature Themed Christmas Cards for even more inspiration. From florals and trees to wood grain and wreath accents, these designs are on trend this year and sure to bring a bit of sophisticated glamor to your mantle.
