Can you think of a better way to celebrate Baby’s first year? We can’t! Check out these ideas for throwing a “Wild One” first birthday party in style.

Up First: Invite

When we decided to add first year birthday party invitations awhile back, we could not have guessed how CUTE they were going to be. The Wild One Invitations are right at the top of our all-time favorites list for two reasons: 1. they’re modern and chic while still being darned cute! 2. the “Wild One” theme is just adorable and can really inspire a great party. We also love how this invitation takes the theme in a more natural direction, which is how we styled the birthday party as a whole.

Next: Decorations

Inspired by the black and white invitation (you can change the colors) as well as the arrow design, we went with a black and white color scheme and natural wood accents. The arrow garland is a crafty touch that adds contemporary style. You can find accent banners on Pear Tree that work great for calling attention to specific areas like the dessert table or a guest book table. And because that first year is a wild ride, we love the idea of creating a display of photos that captures the first year.

And Of Course: Dessert

Simple but cute is the name of the game for the dessert we chose to highlight in this birthday party style story. These classic sugar cookies stick with the black and white color scheme and they incorporate the “Wild One” party theme beautifully complete with arrow accents. Imagine these cookies on a perfectly decorated dessert table like the one shown above and you’re well on your way to creating a birthday party [almost] as memorable as the little one you’re celebrating.
