Vintage Ski Christmas Card Display
I recently was asked by Pear Tree Greetings to check out their Christmas cards and design a fun way to display cards around the house. I wanted a fun, unique way to show off the gorgeous cards we get from friends and family- and wanted to incorporate some of our beloved family antiques to do it- so I made this fun and festive Vintage Ski Christmas Card Display!

We are really fortunate to have a few pairs of my husband’s Grandfather’s vintage skis that he gave us while clearing out his barn when he was still with us. Since he died this past year, it has been extra special to display mementos of him around our house. I knew I had to add these adorable red skis into our decor and use them to show off some of the beautiful cards I got from Pear Tree Greetings.

Before I start- let me share a HUGE secret with you. I am kind of a great-friend fail- and I have NEVER had my act together enough to send out Christmas cards. EEK! I know, pathetic that in 4 years of marriage, 3 with kids, I haven’t sent out ONE paper card. I do email cards, but it’s so impersonal and lame. This year I am getting my act together, and SO excited about the beyond fabulous cards from Pear Tree Greetings that I am going to send out!

To make your own Vintage Ski Christmas Card Display, you’ll need a pair of vintage skis. Since we had ours handed down, they were free- but I have seen old skis in antique shops for anywhere from $20-$100 depending on the shape they are in. You could also use old fence posts, long sticks, or ski poles!

I anchored the skis to the wall with a ton of command strips- those puppies are staying put. If you don’t have kids or a pet you could probably just lean them up against a wall- but we wanted to be sure they are safe with toddlers running around.

I then just tied strings of jute around the skis, and hung cards on with some adorable and festive American Crafts mini clothespins I grabbed in the scrapbook section at Target.

I got a few samples- and am having the HARDEST time picking out our family’s cards this year- because they are all so fun!
